The Shopping Cart Abandonment tool captures data a potential guests enters within your booking engine and creates a lead form for that individual if they abandon the booking process in the middle.
Data capture within the Shopping Cart Abandonment Tool is instantaneous however, lead creation will not occur unless the prospective guest, at a bare minimum, has entered data in the email address field. The email address field is the trigger – if data is entered into other fields but the email address field is not filled out, a lead will not be created.
Data is not sent to Revinate unless an individual has entered data into the email field and moved out of the field. Once they entered data into the email field and moved focus out of it (such as moving into another field on the form, or scrolling down the page) whatever data has been entered on the form and has been provided during the booking process is instantly sent to the SCA queue where it will sit until one of the following two events occur:
- Prospective guest complete the booking within the abandonment window – If this occurs the system will not create an SCA lead
- The abandonment window lapses – If this occurs an SCA lead will be created
