Ivy uses international standard phone number format, which helps ensure the deliverability of your messages. When you are adding guests to your PMS It is important you enter their phone number in international format so that Ivy will be able to read and use it.
General Format
International phone number formatting entails the following:
- A + (plus) sign
- (Your PMS should add this automatically, you do not need to type it in)
- International Country Calling code
- Local Area code
- Local Phone number
Which looks like this when put all together:
[+] [country code] [subscriber number including area code]
Example of a US based number: (801) 555-7575
Here is the same number in international format +18015557575
Important note- Hotels within the United States and Canada do not need to use the international code +1 for guests with phone numbers from the US and Canada.
In some countries, a Zero is added in front of the country code. This zero must be removed for International format.
Example of a UK number: (020) 7946-0444
