What’s an Email Complaint?
A complaint is when a user marks a message as ‘This is Spam’ in their mailbox. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will track this information and use it to define a users Domain & IP reputation.
Where can I find this information in my Revinate Marketing Account?
In an exported marketing report, there’s a column labeled as ‘SPAM’. This column represents all the received complaints associated with a single marketing campaign. We gather this information through Feedback Loops set up at available ISP partners.
What’s a Complaint Rate?
A complaint rate is Complaints/Volume= 'Complaint Rate’
How Important are Complaints?
It is very important to a senders success. That’s because this metric is driven by Customer Action (Marketing the message as ‘Spam’). This action, and other similar actions (Moving a message out of Spam), is very important when an ISP is pulling together the customer's reputation. Customers should focus in on keeping this % rate down to ensure their email delivery success.
Please review the Feedback Loop answer page for more information on how we track a complaint.
