Room and Amenity Upsells
Our instructions below cover the essential components for setting up your room upgrades and amenities. Feel free to also check out our Upsells Training Videos.
ROOM UPGRADE
To add a new room upsell, select the "ADD NEW" button in the right-hand corner of the room upsells area.
To set up your room upsells:
- Select the room that the guest would upgrade to
- For example, the king suite or the penthouse suite
- Input the inventory or number available per night.
- The inventory will deplete as guests book the room through your upsells email. If guest "A" books the penthouse suite and there is only 1 penthouse suite available, then no other guests will have the ability to upgrade to this room. The option would be greyed out and state "Sold Out" for that evening.
- Add a photo of the room.
- Add a room description.
- Input the Room Code
- This is the room you are allowing guest to upgrade from. For example, anyone in a queen room can upgrade to the king suite or anyone in a king suite can upgrade to the penthouse etc.
- You may input as many upgrades from rooms as you need.
- Input the UPSELL COST
- The upsell cost will depend on the room the guest is upgrading from. If a guest upgrades from the Standard King to the Penthouse Suite, it may cost more than the guest who upgrades from the Deluxe King to the Penthouse Suite.
- Add the original or standard price for the room (Optional).
- If you add the original price this will calculate a percentage discount. On your landing page this discount will be seen as a banner.
- You cannot add banners to existing amenities as this will affect reporting, however, you may replicate the amenity and include the discount banner on the new version of the amenity offering.
- Lastly, click SAVE
*** Note that you cannot delete a room upgrade if there is a pending or live room upgrade request in the system.
AMENITY UPSELLS
*** Note: Amenities on your account settings page cannot be deleted if there is a pending live request for the amenity in the system.
To add Amenity Upsells, select the option to "Add New" in the upper right-hand corner of the Amenity Upsells area. Setting up the amenities are similar to the room upsells. Here you will need to:
- Add an amenity name that the guests will see.
- This will be the title displayed on your landing page.
- Add a short-code for the name (optional).
- This is only for internal reporting purposes
- Add an amenity photo to show off the amenity
- You may select from your uploaded images or Unsplash image library
- Write a description of the amenity and details of what it entails.
- Add the Amenity Costs
- If this is an amenity that the guest would receive nightly (i.e. nightly turndown), select the "per night" option.
- If the guest is receiving it only one time (i.e. a bottle of wine), select the "per stay" option
- If this is per person amenity or a per person per night make sure to specify. Both of these options will also have a drop down to specify if your cost change for adults or children.
Please note, upsells are not directly connected to your Property Management System. When an upgrade request enters the request center, the user must enter the price and upgrade into the PMS as necessary.
