Send targeted emails to your guests so that you can capture their preferences to better your segmentation in marketing efforts and know them better.
By knowing more about a guest’s interests, you can send them much more targeted campaigns, increasing the likelihood of converting (e.g., spa upsell to someone with “spa” interest) and minimizing the likelihood of unsubscribes/spam reports. Using a question like “What is your dream vacation?” with answers like: “Relaxing on a beach”, “Exploring a new city”, You can gather data to help you target guests based on theri interests. If you have a new beach resort property, you could target people who answered “beach” when promoting it. Another option is using more specific questions to improve the guests stay. Questions like: “Do you want wine or flowers in your room before check-in?”, “Do you drink coffee?”, “Will you need an iron during your stay?” can create a more personalized experience, and happier guests.
Accounts Settings > Guest Preferences
From your Account Settings page found in the top right-hand corner of your page, you can customize your guest preferences landing page. This process will be similar to setting up an Upsells landing page and settings.
Landing Page
Add your logo and banner images and edit the content or text you would like displayed on your landing page.
The Guest Preferences landing page does not require any logins, and will remember any preferences the guest has submitted previously. These can be updated at any time by the guest by clicking on the link.
Editing the questions for your guest preferences is simple. Create your questions by selecting the ADD A QUESTION button.
This will generate a pop-up module where you can create Single-Select of Multi-Select questions. Once you have created your question, select the ADD button to save it to your questionnaire.
Editing
Questions can be reordered and edited at any time.
If you are attempting to edit a question that has already received responses, a warning will display indicating edits should be small changes only, as editing the questions will change how the question appears in existing guest profiles. If there are no responses to that specific question, there will be no warning message.
For questions that have received responses, there is an Archived function: Archived questions don’t show up on the questionnaire, Archived questions and responses still show up in the segment builder with “Archived” displayed after it. Once a question is archived, that option turns to “Unarchive”, which makes it live again. For questions that have never received responses, there is a Delete option.
Once your Guest Preferences Landing Page and questionnaire are set up you are ready to add it to your Marketing Email Campaigns.
Best Practice Tip: Attach these to any campaign so that you are constantly collecting your guest data.
