Also known as exit intent popup, Website abandonment is a technique used in online stores and websites to retain visitors that are about to leave the site.
How it works:
A site guest's cursor movements are tracked, and when it moves outside the upper page boundary as if to leave the page, a popup window appears. The popup window can offer a special discount or offer and can be used as an opportunity to collect email addresses.
The information gathered through your Website Abandonment will be automatically fed into Revinate's CRM, creating a Rich Guest Profile. The Rich guest profile includes details on the last web page visited by your guest so you can tailor future communications.
Implementing Website Abandonment for your Brand Site:
- Revinate will provide a custom code that will be embedded onto certain pages of a hotel’s website. Through this code Revinate will capture ‘behind the scenes’ details such as when the site visitor signed up through the pop up or the page they were on when the pop-up was triggered. These details and more will help to identify the site visitor’s interests.
- Design you own custom pop-up window and include any fields you’d like. Revinate recommends keeping the fields to a minimum and include only essentials such as first name, last name, and email address.
- Note that this feature can only be placed on brand websites and will not be placed on booking engine sites.
